Brahman heifers to $23,000 at Rocky All Stars Sale - QCL

A parade of quality heifers were offered at the annual Rocky All Stars Elite Brahman Female sale on Saturday, with a frenzy of bids pushing the sale to a high of $23,000.

A total of 88 females were offered by 13 vendors, achieving a clearance rate of 93 per cent and combined sale average of $5555.

A breakdown of the catalogue saw 35 red heifers sold to average $5157, while the grey section of the draft saw 43 heifers sell to average $5851.

The top money came early in the sale, with Gavin Scott, Rosetta Grazing, Collinsville, winning the bidding war for the 12-month-old red heifer, Halgenaes Egret (IVF) (PS), offered by Peter Tuxworth, Allingham.

The grey section of the sale saw top money of $16,000 reached twice, with Scott and Vicki Hayes, Yenda V Brahmans, Mundubberra, securing 18-month-old Glengarry S Teacher 3081 (H), and Les and Helen Donald, El Ja Brahman Stud, Theodore, purchasing Glen Oak Miss Hannabul 171 (IVF) (PS).

The remaining heifers went on to sell after the fall of the hammer, bringing the sale clearance to 100pc.
